Jamie Yorke, a fictional short story writer, recently visited the Sukhumvit Campus library. on Thursday, October 11th 2018. Jamie Yorke has been living an international lifestyle for more than 17 years teaching in Hong Kong, Korea, and Singapore. Over these years he has learned a lot about the unique lifestyles of children attending international schools. He started writing fictional short stories that showcase some of the many exciting opportunities and challenges that living abroad provides children.
ASB students thoroughly enjoyed Yorke’s interactive presentation about his book series The Power 5: a colorful journey of five talented international school students as TCK’s, (Third Culture Kids, living in a culture that is different from their parent’s culture) learning about the importance of cultural diversity and self-empowerment.
ASB students were given first-hand knowledge of what it takes to be a good writer, to understand and acknowledge constructive criticism, and to never give up on reaching their writing goals.
