Safety and Security

Safety is of utmost importance, and all students are encouraged to practice good safety habits.  Safety instruction is given at school and safety measures are practiced in the buildings and on the playground.

Personal identification should be available at all times when on the ASB campus to pick up children.

The security guards will supervise the safety of the students, the school and its environment on a 24-hour basis.  The administration, principal, staff, faculty and maintenance people will be in charge of the observance of safety regulations.  The teachers will supervise the safety of each child in their classrooms.

As a general reminder ASB offers these guidelines:

  1. The school has a comprehensive ‘Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies and Procedures’ in place to ensure the safety and security of its students.

  2. Students who leave the campus before the end of the regular school day should be signed out in the Principal's office by their parents or guardians.

  3. Students who are going home with another person, friend or who are not using their regular transportation should have a note to notify the Principal's office.

  4. The school gates will be closed and will only be open during the morning and afternoon loading and unloading of buses.

  5. Parents should display the ASB sticker on their vehicle for the security guard.

  6. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended and be very careful in the bus pick-up area during the afternoon dismissal.

  7. Identification badges will be issued to vendors and visitors by the security guard.  The badge will be given in exchange for personal identification. Visitors also have to sign a ‘Code of Conduct’ prior to entering the school premises.

  8. In case of an emergency school closing, ASB will attempt to notify each family by telephone, email, SMS, and other school social media communication channels.
